Pretty in Pink and Floral

It’s officially fall, but if you know anything about Houston, TX that doesn’t mean pull out the sweaters and boots quite yet. Houstonians still get to wear those summer outfits we didn’t get to. Since this is my first post, these photos were taken when the temps were much warmer than they are today (we’re actually supposed to have a “cold front” in a couple of days). As hot as it gets in Houston, it’s always hard for me to let go of summer so it was only logical for my first post to be an ode to summer.

One of my favorite brands is Zimmermann, an Australian ready-to-wear line. They make such beautiful pieces with floral prints and feminine silhouettes. It’s definitely a great line to build a spring/summer wardrobe.

To keep with the femininity of this skirt, I paired it with this Olivia Rubin off the shoulder pink top. The textures of both pieces aligned perfectly together and also helped to keep “cool” as much as possible. I love the color palette of the floral print of this skirt because it really provides multiple options to pair with. I went with pink for the top to bring out some of the colors of the print and I also think the off the shoulder compliments the lace details of the skirt.

Since the focus of this look is on the skirt, I went with a simple strappy sandal in a soft blush color to complete the look.

Top: Olivia Rubin

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my first post!
