Background:
Well hello there!! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Shima. A proud Iranian-American, born in Iran but grew up in Houston, Texas. I’m a die hard Houstonian. My profession is Hospital Administration. I graduated with a dual masters in Business and Healthcare Admin and have been fortunate to work for one of the large hospital systems in town. While I spend my professional life at the hospital, my personal passion is fashion (with as much travel as I can squeeze in the schedule!).
Since day one, I’ve always had that “passion for fashion” and I’ll prove it with pics when I was a little girl, big bows and all 😂.
I like to think of myself as a pro shopper not only to justify my addiction to shopping, but because I can spot a great deal a mile away! It may sound cliché, but fashion to me is art. Fashion is a way to express yourself, express how you’re feeling, your attitude, your personality. I get so much enjoyment pulling an entire look or outfit together. In my blog posts I’ll explain how I assemble patterns, fabrics, and accessories to put together just the right look for just the right moment.
As I mentioned I’m a workin girl, so I like to work hard and travel often! I have my favorite places but am not afraid to go somewhere new. Wanderlust is in my soul. Traveling gives me a better understanding of what is shaping our world. Seeing historic places in person and allowing my imagination to take over and escape to those important moments in time, I get to make my own memories, and write my own stories in each place I go. I just love seeing new places, trying new food, meeting different people. Just as Dr. Seuss said, “Because when you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing.” I encourage you to take time to stop and look around, no matter where you are.
What’s so Shima:
What’s “So Shima”?? I’m your classic girly girl. I love all things pink, bows, pearls, and a beautiful pair of heels.
If I had to pick a favorite, like so many others I just love all things French… I’ve been fortunate to travel to France a few times and I cannot get enough of French design, French architecture, French foods (I bet can eat more macaroons than you! 🤣). Paris is breathtaking. So much history. So much fashion. Audrey Hepburn said it best, Paris is ALWAYS a good idea ❤️.
And there’s no coast like the French Riviera. Saint-Tropez is so charming. The boats. The shoppes. The wineries. Just a laid back beach town with the right amount of glitz and glam…just how I like it!
So now you know why my friends see things and say “That’s so Shima!” Thank you for following along with me while I live life just being a girl in my own world.
